pheww..just got back from 1st aid MCQ exam and practical. T.T huhu...MCQ was erm..Okay i guess. but the practical..aiyoo....nervous is normal, but waiting for my turn for 2 hours is..unacceptable! huhu..they should have more examiner!
when i entered the practical room, i wasn't ready. didn'y really expect the pair before me to finish so soon. so, after writing our names on the form (i paired with anith ayuni), the examiner suddenly asked me to start the CPR first, then anith will do it after me.
"okay shazali, u can start 1st", he said.
i was like..huh?? that's my father's name -.-" anyway, after that i started the procedures, 1stly by declaring "the scene is safe!" after that, i got blur..i stopped and can't think of what to do next..astarghfirullah..so i said,
"sorry, im not ready yet. i'll just start over"
urgh..so, it goes something like this:
1) declaring scene is safe
2) wear glove
3) then i check level of response "hello, hello! are u okay? can u hear me?
4) no respond, ask bystander to call 112, call for cardiac ambulance n get an AED.
5) next i checked the breathing by putting my face near to the dummy's face, with my face facing the torso area to see the chest rise.
okay, so here's what happened during my practical. when trying to check the breathing, i was supposed to count from 1 to 10, by saying "1, 1000, 2, 1000, ....10, 1000." but, instead of saying that, i remained silent. and i was like waiting for the examiner to declare that there's no breathing. but he didn't say anything. so, i go on saying "em, im checking the breathing."
hahh?? what did i just say? oh my god. i wasn't suppose to say that, i should be counting! that's why the examiner didn't say a think..goshh, anything can happen when u'r nervous. huhu...anyhow, after i said the stupid phrase, luckily the examiner proceed by saying "no breathing."
aigu....huhu..then i continued giving 2 rescue breath and started compression. but, i wasn't counting out loud! got so nervous, and just realized that i didn't count out loud after my partner started her CPR. huhu...so much of being nervous :(
luckily the haemorrhage control after that was quite fine, albeit still feeling nervous. i simply threw in what ever question that crossed my mind.
moral of the story, calmess is the main key to every panic event. macam mana nak jadi dokte ni? *geleng2 kepala*
