Patrick slapped me on the face

Salam alaik, good day :)

I guess what happened today really had a deep impact on me that i am finally moved to post an entry. March 17th, the St. Patrick's Day, celebrated in Ireland. Not gonna talk about it here, google it yourself.

We arrived at O'Connell Street about 10 a.m. when the parade actually started at about 12.30 p.m. We had to look for a good spot. At almost 12 p.m. me and several others were standing at the back, failed to have a good spot. You know how tall 'mat salleh' are and how short we are.

So me, Liyana Rosli, Mali Hatta and Wan Muez were chit-chatting. Then we saw plastic wrapping of what we've eaten earlier on (some crisps and croissant) lying on the ground, centimeters away from our foot. But i didn't leave my wrapping on the ground! Mine is in my bag. Neither do Liyana, Mali and Wan. So it must be the others then. Being typical Malaysian, sume tak nak ngaku kan.

"Bukan aku yang buang la."

In the middle of the denial, suddenly a white man (not sure if he's an Irish) who's been standing behind us for quite a while (and listened to us arguing on who threw the rubbish there) picked up the wrapping and said;

"This is disgraceful!"

BANGGGG!!!

I feel like i was slapped on the face (not literally). It was so embarrassing that we argued but didn't just go and pick it up and put it into the bin. Till this moment, the words he said is still echoing in my head. I swear i'm gonna be a good citizen after this. I'll help pick up the rubbish when ever i see them.

But i was actually quite dissatisfied because i think i sensed some envious hatred there. Before the incident, the white man was trying to make his little son squeeze to the front (to where some of us who managed to get a good spot), so that the kid could see the parade. But, we couldn't even move a bag (the place was stuffed like canned sardine), what more a kid??

So i think he was mad at that as well, that he released his anger through his action previously. I mean , come on la, logically there'll be tonnes of rubbish in this sort of parade. Even if you walk few meters away from where we stand, you'll see bottles, beers, rubbish all over the ground. Is he gonna make us pick that up too?

Anyway, we know we're at fault. And i'm very sorry for that. It won't happen again.

Sorry Malaysia, i've made a shame out of you today. :|
