NF 2.0

John introduced us to a new type of footwork training; to train us to keep distance with the opponent. One person leads, the others try to keep the distance. One minute for each of the following, then switch:

1) big, slow steps; follow the lead, lunge when leader claps.
2) small, fast steps; follow the lead, lunge when leader claps.
3) bouncy steps, follow the lead, lunge when leader claps.

i swear im half-dead by the the time we're done. i was 10 minutes late yesterday and didn't do a proper stretch, plus, it's been a long time since i last had any jog to keep my heart fit. anyway, i think that was a very good training, rather than focusing on blade work alone. both are equally important. but when im on the piste, what ever i learnt and trained for are gone! LOL

also, after one little match yesterday, i learnt that i need to lower my foil while fencing to guard my body target. and need to do more bit towards opponent's blade.
