If there's one thing that i learnt from watching Olympics' final badminton match tonight, it would be this:
"We don't have to be good in everything because nobody is perfect. Just find something (good & beneficial) we really enjoy doing, something that we have so much passion in; and be very good at it. Be very VERY good at it."
For the past 2 years in Med School, if i could make an analogy of myself, i would say in MedSchool im like a fish gasping for air. The amount of input we're dealing with, MasyaAllah. And people say UCD is one of the most stress-free MedSchool - true enough. 3rd year baru nak pegang stetoskop -_-
In UCD, every semester we have 5 core modules. And there i was, trying to be good at every module but failed in the end, every single semester that has passed. There's a reason why in hospitals we don't see a doctor with many specialties. He would only specialize in one area. That's because it's impossible to be good at everything!
In Olympics, we don't see an athlete involved in 2 very different sports. Lee Chong Wei, our hero for tonight - he's so damn good at what he's doing, that is badminton. He's a true gem. It takes much effort and a very strong will to recover from his injury and gave his all for final tonight. He deserves all the respect and appreciation in the world.
However.
We Malaysians should stop being just an internet athlete (if you get what i mean), and start doing something REAL out there. Be good at something, add more to our otherwise dying human capital. Get out from that comfort zone. Talk is cheap, action speaks better.
3rd year mission: Focus, good grades, Novice cup, Trinity Cup.
p/s: i was kicked out from the TV room halfway during the rubber set because i can't stop screaming 'Malaysia Boleh' and making annoying gestures and sounds everytime Lin Dan gets a point. Hey, aren't we supposed to cheer our heart out for the team we're rooting for? Grrrr

Ahahaha an over enthusiast eh?
